Hey, we agree again! But I work very hard at not getting irjnued in the first place. I'm not training for a race, or some contest, but to remain fit, and injury is counterproductive to fitness. I've learned over the years to listen to what my body is telling me. I didn't always do that. I'm sure you've heard the old saw, No pain, no gain. Well, that's a bunch of hooey, in my opinion. But I used to believe it, thanks to stupid and sadistic football and wrestling coaches, for example. You were just expected to work through your pain (most athletes are taught that), often confusing pain with injury. Pop a few pills (or get a shot) and just keep on truckin'. Phooey to that, I say. It takes its toll on you. The first inkling of pain gets my full attention now, and I immediately back off. Again, I'm in no hurry.

However, resistant bcaretia are also promoted by people who simply don’t finish their cure or continue to consume alcohol during a treatment with anti biotics. You're 100% right Ron. Our bodies were not designed to process alcohol other than in minimal quantities. I spoke to a physician regarding this recently, after he mentioned a patient who'd consulted him with an extremely high average heart rate, who'd consulted him to have a Bruce Treadmill Test. This guy was a heavy drinker and apparently couldn't even walk, without his heart rate skyrocketing. After asking this Doc exactly what physiological changes alcohol had on the heart (irrespective of the liver, etc), he explained to me, that the wall of the left ventricle, providing most of the pumping action, starts losing its muscle tone, which reduces the efficiency of the whole muscle, and effectively forces the remaining toned muscle to work twice as hard therefore the accelerated heart beat.

There have been too many changes of mind and retnameodmcions from research and studies for me to trust them. Another example, remember butter is really bad for you, eat margarine? Latest I heard now is that margarine is really very bad and butter is OK. Meantime how many have deprived themselves of delicious butter, eaten crappy margarine and maybe harmed their health in the process? And diet soda for those who drink that muck was better for you because the sugar in them would make you fat, now they say the artificial sweeteners are actually sweeter' than sugar and will give you a bigger waistline.I'm waiting for them to tell us that red wine after all is bad for us. Well too bad for them, I ain't giving up my red wine.Jacob. Doc, I don't smoke, I don't touch alcohol, I'm in bed early every night, I don't cavort with loose women, do you think I'll live to be 100? Doc. Why would you want to?

it’s actually the fever that helps to cure us, if we’d just give it a chcane to do its thing. Jack, the same applies to muscular, tendon, & even bone injuries. The body heals itself. I avoid wherever possible taking anti-inflammatories. The body's inflammatory response to a sprain, etc is it's way of facilitating healing (even the pain has a function it's telling us to rest that part of the body). We feel better after taking Voltaren or something like that, because of the pain killers included in the product's formulation. But taking them can in fact retard the healing, and cause more serious damage, because the limb is feeling better, but continued use is resulting in more muscle tearing. The most effective & natural way to encourage healing, is to get more blood supply to the affected area, which serves to supply more nutrients to repair the damage, as well as flushing out the waste by-products. I suspect, fever works the same way. The heart rate increases to circulate more blood, and the actual fever & associated nausea, is a result of all the wasted white blood cells circulating through body (in particular, the brain). My motto is, keep it natural wherever possible, but don't kick science in the teeth when all else fails.

Yet for hudrneds and hudrneds of years Europeans didn't drink water thinking it was Unclean Beer for breakfast lunch and dinner.Vegetables only become fashionable in the 18th century. Salads later than that. (Western societies)Then again in those days 40 years was old. I have a friend who has chicken farms. Also in Asia.Battery farms and free range (i.e. the chooks can walk around in a large shed.) The healthiest chickens are battery chickens segregated in their own little cage.Left to walk around, chickens eat anything including their own and others faeces. My friends battery chicken farms survived the Asian avian bird flu crisis because they were in segregated cages. In Australian anti biotic and hormone enhancement use is supposed to be forbidden Yeah Right.Chickens grow to monsters within a few weeks. They also grow outsize drumsticks. How is that natural?Every second week we are now hearing and reading stories on the spread of anti biotic and penicillin resistant infections. All allegedly (and probably rightly so) caused by the abuse of antibiotics and other artificial medicines. We even hear that the water supplies for some Asian cities are contaminated with fertilizers, hormone and anti-biotics.Here's some more controversy. Oncologists will tell you to stay away from dairy products.(a) There was a study on longevity which was subject to a documentary. Conclusion. It's all in your genes. However lifestyle choice will give your genes a battering.(a) There was a study using a large number of identical twins. One twin was fed organics the other normal supermarket food. They were put on specialized diets as set up by nutritionists for a one year period plus a mild exercise regime. The result after the year was all sets of twins being much healthier and all had lost weight. The conclusion was that a balanced proper diet maintained correct health. Organic or supermarket food was irrelevant. My wife and I eat organics because it tastes like food.
